Dear Parents/Guardians & First Graders,

I would first like to start off by welcoming you and your child to first grade.  I would also like to say Congratulations!  You are the proud parent/guardian of a first-grader here at St. Leo the Great Elementary School!  You will  be amazed at just how much your child will grow and learn this year.  Most likely, your child has had the knowledge of reading and writing planted, and during first grade, that knowledge will grow and blossom, making your child a proficient reader and writer.  You will see many positive changes in your child's thinking, as he/she becomes familiar with the fundamentals of learning in first grade.  I can't wait to embark on this journey with you.
